We regret to inform you that the Share&Charge app was disabled from the German Android and iOS App Stores on the 31st of March (31.03.2018). If you have any questions, please email us at email@example.com or follow all our recent developments at www.shareandcharge.com
After having launched Share&Charge at the end of April 2017, one of the first production-level (with real users and real money) Blockchain-oriented (running on the public main Ethereum network) mobile apps in the industry, close to 1500 charging stations have been available to over a thousand registered users. While these numbers are not astonishing, this journey has brought the team a wealth of knowledge and expertise within the mobility field.
For us, the Share&Charge app is a successful example of how Blockchain technology can add great value to charging transactions between private individuals and owners of charging stations, and we are proud and grateful that you have accompanied us on this journey and placed your trust in us.
Our journey has brought Share&Charge across Europe in a pan-European charging network together with our partners in our Oslo2Rome Tour in November 2017. In addition to this, Share&Charge was introduced overseas to California, USA in a peer-to-peer pilot program in collaboration with eMotorWerks. From our Oslo2Rome initiative and the California pilot program we can see that there will be a strong demand in the upcoming years to improve and optimize charging infrastructure, which aligns with our vision of creating a sustainable and seamless mobility future.
Even though we are closing the Share&Charge app at this point in time, we are still convinced that electromobility and Blockchain technology belong together. We will use the experience and knowledge from the last few months to restructure the Share&Charge app, transform it into a foundation, further decentralize it, open it to other partners and make all our software available as “open source” software. Further information regarding a more technical point of view can be found here in an article published by our CTO, Hector Garcia.
The road ahead of us looks very promising as we endeavour into changing the mobility and energy sectors to embrace decentralisation. In the coming weeks we will be opening up our works to the open source community, and we will boost collaboration and communication between our team and our partners.
Thank you very much for taking this exciting path with us so far and be sure to follow our progress over the coming months on our social media channels and website: www.shareandcharge.com
